Internet searches for Fisker Inc. are on the rise as the Fisker Ocean generates buzz on social media and gas prices hit record highs.
Since a peak back in February, search interest in Fisker Inc. has been trending downward after the Mobile World Congress media ramp up. However, during mid-April the trend appears to have bottomed and interest in Fisker is on the rise. There has always been a correlation between internet search interest and Fisker reservations. Reservations hit 45,000 at the beginning of the month. They are likely on the rise again.
Internet search interest is also fueled by Fisker’s ability to keep generating buzz on social media. The company keeps sharing progress with the Fisker Ocean. Like, the latest one with race car drive Abbie Eaton. And, it gave an update on the PEAR project. With interest in Fisker Inc. on the rise, something else is on the rise too. The cost of gasoline. Gas prices have once again began to soar.
Last time we checked in on gas prices, the national average was $4.25/gallon. Many states were still under $4/gallon. Traffic to Fisker’s site was near an all-time high too. Gas prices hit an all-time high today. Gasoline is over $4/gallon in almost every state across the United States.
According to AAA Gas Prices, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline rose nearly $0.12 hitting $4.596. “The high cost of oil, the key ingredient in gasoline, is driving these high pump prices for consumers,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson. “Even the annual seasonal demand dip for gasoline during the lull between spring break and Memorial Day, which would normally help lower prices, is having no effect this year.”
