The all-electric Fisker Ocean wins internationally renowned Red Dot award for its stunning looks, outstanding functionality, and user-friendliness.
Today, Fisker announced that the Fisker Ocean won the 2023 Red Dot Product Design Award for Best Electric Vehicle. The internationally renowned Red Dot award recognized the exceptional product design of Fisker’s first vehicle. The all-electric Fisker Ocean received the award for its attractive aesthetics, excellent functionality, and user-friendliness. In fact, the electric SUV underwent evaluation based on vehicle design’s responsibility, sustainability, and durability. Congratulations to Henrik Fisker and the team for winning the global design competition.
About Red Dot Design Competition
The Red Dot Design Award, one of the largest design competitions globally, aims to recognize good design. The Red Dot Label has gained worldwide recognition as a quality mark for good design. To assess the wide range of designs professionally, the Red Dot Design Award divides into three disciplines. The three disciplines of the Red Dot Design Award are Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concept. Competitions for each discipline are held annually.
Fisker entered their flagship electric SUV into the worldwide competition. Over 50 design experts from around the world evaluated the all-electric Fisker Ocean. They compared it to other electric vehicles in four key design qualities: product function, aesthetics, ease of use, and responsibility/sustainability. The international design experts declared the Fisker Ocean the Best Electric Vehicle 2023. This is one of the most sought-after seals of quality for good design since its first award in 1955.
Henrik Fisker and the Fisker design team will accept the Red Dot Award on on June 19th, 2023. The Product Design 2023 for Electric Vehicle award will be given out at the Red Dot Gala in Essen, Germany. Furthermore, the Fisker Ocean design will be part of “Milestones in Contemporary Design.” This exhibition of Red Dot Award winners at the Red Dot Design Museum will run from June 2023 to May 2024.

Fisker Ocean Deliveries Imminent
One particular sentence in Fisker’s press release caught our attention: “Fisker looks forward to commencing deliveries in the beginning of May.” Fisker intends to start ramping production of the Fisker Ocean for European deliveries on Thursday, April 20th. in my experience – tho maybe not others – the Red Dot award lives somewhere between Forbes Best Places to Work and a Delta Sky Miles magazine ad for “Americas Top Plastic Surgeons”. Great news that Fiskers will be in hands of real customers so soon tho. Now that’s a distinction worth celebrating. Can’t wait to hear what you all early #’s think when you get yours!!!
