Fisker Hires Former BMW Executive to Help Achieve Its 2027 Production Goal

Former BMW executive joins Fisker to help leadership oversee its strategy to achieve 2027 annual production goal of one million EVs.

Alpay Uguz joins the Fisker team as the new Senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing.

Today, Fisker announced a new hire to help oversee its strategy towards its production goal of one million vehicles per year in 2027. Alpay Uguz joins the Fisker team as the new Senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing. Uguz will report directly to CEO Henrik Fisker, effective immediately.

The former BMW executive worked at BMW’s production facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina. There he was the General Manager of Assembly for the brand’s BMW X5, X6, X7 and Motorsport.

At Fisker, Alpay will oversee the company’s global manufacturing. He will focus on lean manufacturing and innovative techniques to reduce parts starting from the earliest development phase.

This comes as Fisker starts production of the Fisker Ocean One in November. This is the company’s launch vehicle, which will be the first to roll off the assembly line at Magna Steyr. The company is currently working towards selling out pre-orders for the Fisker Ocean One. Earlier today, Fisker sent out the fourth wave of pre-order invites by email. The company is just shy of two-weeks since it opened up pre-orders for Ocean One on July 1st.
