Today, we have some really interesting news to share with you regarding the Fisker Alaska pickup truck. In a CNBC interview, Henrik Fisker revealed that he had a meeting with the Chairman of Foxconn a couple of weeks ago. Currently, Fisker and Foxconn are in the final stages of negotiating their production agreement.

Henrik also disclosed that Fisker will play a more active role in the Lordstown, OH plant. The company hired their own Head of Manufacturing who previously managed the BMW plant in the US and China. Their level of involvement will surpass their previous collaboration with Magna Steyr. As scheduled, the production of the PEAR will begin by mid-2025.

Alaska Production Plans

Henrik Fisker made a significant announcement about the company’s plans for its electric pickup truck. Henrik revealed the company’s production plans for another vehicle in the same Lordstown plant scheduled for the end of 2024. That means two vehicles will be built by Foxconn, the PEAR and another electric vehicle. Henrik didn’t share many details about this other vehicle, but he said the vehicle will be based on the Fisker Ocean. The company has previously shared the Alaska pickup truck will be built using the same platform as the Fisker Ocean. Although Henrik did not explicitly mention “Project Alaska,” he did describe it as a vehicle with a spacious back that can carry a substantial amount of cargo. Everything points to the Alaska pickup truck. This is exciting news for everyone interested in an electric pickup truck.

  1. It’s difficult to feel much enthusiasm for a vehicle coming from Lordstown, given the fumbling failures coming from another pickup at that facility. Would be more inclined to prefer Magna be our manufacturer over these folks.
