The Fisker Ocean SUV comes with an industry-leading warranty that has you covered, and here is an overview for new reservation holders.
You just reserved a Fisker Ocean. It’s the first question you want answered before buying your new Fisker Ocean electric SUV. What’s covered under the vehicle’s warranty?
A new vehicle warranty is a repair contract between the manufacturer and you, the vehicle owner. It limits the financial risk of the vehicle owner for a limited period of time.
Typically, manufacturers offer a bumper-to-bumper limited warranty. This is often referred to as the basic warranty. For example, Ford and GM offer a basic warranty that lasts 3 years or 36,000 miles. Tesla and VW offer 4 years or 50,000 miles. Kia and Hyundai offer 5 years or 60,000 miles. We did a warranty comparison of EV car makers to see how Fisker’s limited warranty stacks up.
Essentially, warranties cover defects or damage that can’t be considered normal wear and tear. For example, a warranty will cover a motor that unexpectedly stops working or a display screen that dies early. It won’t cover certain wear and tear items or abuse to the vehicle. This may include things like scratches on your wheels or paint, dents in the body, worn out tires or brake pads, dried out windshield wipers, or even burnt out headlight bulbs.
Limited Warranty Overview
As the company gets closer to production, Fisker wants to build trust with consumers and over 45,000 reservation holders. In February, Fisker announced an industry-leading warranty for the Fisker Ocean at Mobile World Congress.
The company is in the process of performance testing each of its vehicles. Fisker is putting them through tough conditions. The company wants to show it stands behind the dependability and reliability of each vehicle it produces.
Fisker designed its warranty and service experience for convenience and trust in the company’s brand. The company went with a basic warranty of 6 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. For service, the company is offering at-home vehicle pick-up, or Fisker Mobile Service, for customers who prefer skilled technicians come to them through its Cox Automotive partnership.
Here is a breakdown of the Fisker Ocean limited warranty:
|Basic Warranty||6 Years / 60,000 Miles|
|Powertrain Warranty||10 Years / 100,000 Miles|
|Battery Warranty||10 Years / 100,000 Miles / 75% State of Health|

Limited Warranty Details
Fisker has provided us with details about its limited warranty. Before production vehicles are available for purchase, the company will publish a digital warranty guide.
The warranty guide will provide full details a consumer buying a new vehicle would expect. It will have all the fine print. It should tell an owner how to take advantage of the warranty should any issues arise.
We anticipate the warranty guide to surface around the time of pre-ordering the Fisker Ocean One. As soon as it does we’ll review it and give you our thoughts.
