Not only does it have the cool factor, it’s actually useful, and good for the planet.
You could have the world’s largest solar panel on the entire roof of your next electric vehicle. The Fisker Ocean will offer customers a chance to go solar with the SolarSky Roof. This will allow you to take advantage of the sun to generate energy, which is stored in your Fisker Ocean for additional emission free miles.

The Fisker Solar Roof will supply between 1,500 to 2,000 miles of range per year under sunny skies like here in California. Ideal conditions assume solar irradiation of 5.4 kWh/m2/day and steady commuter driving. While the feature won’t be free, if you’re saving $300 to $400 a year for gas at $5/gallon, the Fisker SolarSky Roof will pay off over the lifetime of the vehicle and it’s good for the environment. The Fisker SolarSky roof will only be available on the Fisker Ocean Extreme and Fisker Ocean One.
