Summer 2023 has arrived, you’ve packed up your Fisker Ocean, and ready to hit the road. #roadtrip #planaccordingly
It’s 2023 and you’ve finally taken delivery of your Fisker Ocean Ultra. You’ve been waiting for this moment for what feels like an eternity. You’re one of the lucky ones who reserved the electric vehicle in 2020 or early 2021. Your new baby has most of the bells and whistles and gets an estimated 340 miles per charge. Now Summer has arrived. You’re ready to take your beautifully designed EV on a road trip. The question is, where are you going to go? The destination of your road trip depends on the charging network(s) you plan to use and how much time you have.
Charging stations from sea to shining sea
Fisker has partnered with Electrify America for customers in the United States and Allego in Europe. Your Fisker Ocean will offer a seamless integration with the Electrify America and Allego charging network providers. Use the Fisker Ocean trip planner located on your central touchscreen. Simply enter in your destination. Your Fisker Ocean will route you along the best path that is well equipped with Electrify America or Allego charging stations.

While your Fisker Ocean Ultra gets 340 miles per charge, in all likelihood you’ll stopping more frequently to fill your electric car with more juice. You’ll be looking for a charging station when you have about 50 miles of battery left. Depending on your driving style and behavior, plan to stop about every 4 hours to charge your Fisker Ocean.

That gives you enough wiggle room to prevent you from having range anxiety. You shouldn’t need to worry about running out of battery in the middle of nowhere. However, there aren’t a whole lot of Electrify America charging options if you veer off the beaten path. You can always use PlugShare, an EVgo company, to find additional charging stations along the way.

Take advantage of time when your Ocean is charging
Unlike a gas station where it takes you five minutes to fill up your car, a road trip with an EV takes some planning. You will need to wait around for about 1 to 1.5 hours for your Fisker Ocean Ultra to fully charge before you’re on your way. This assumes you have about 50 miles left on your battery.
Make the most out of each stop when you charge your EV. If you can find lodging, restrooms, or restaurants nearby while your Fisker Ocean is charging you will save time. Grabbing a bite to eat, using the restroom, getting a leg stretch, site seeing, or sleeping is the best way to maximize your EVs charging time.
When you’re traveling across country with your Ocean Ultra, keep in mind that for every four hours you drive one hour will need to be dedicated to charging. That means at least one fifth of your travel time will be dedicated to charging. If you have an Ocean Sport, figure for every three hours you drive, one hour will be spent charging. Take that into account before you back out of your driveway. Plan accordingly.
