Fisker released a new video today showing off the Fisker Ocean SolarSky Roof from its desert photo shoot.
Today, Fisker shared a new video titled “Ride the Sunshine” dedicated to its SolarSky Roof. In the 30 second clip, you get to see the Fisker Ocean’s solar roof in action. The video comes from the company’s latest desert photo shoot with the Fisker Ocean where Henrik was a stunt driver for the day.
The SolarSky Roof is one of the roof options offered in the Fisker Ocean. You’ll have to pay up for this feature though. As of right now, it is only available on the Fisker Ocean One and Extreme priced at $68,999 excluding government tax incentives.
The SolarSky roof is still our top 3 most favorite feature on the Fisker Ocean. It will supply between 1,500 to 2,000 miles of range per year under sunny skies like here in California. We grabbed a copy of the video and posted it below for you to enjoy.
In the company’s words…
On the journey to a cleaner future for all, we’re focused on giving drivers more emissions-free miles with smart design and innovative use of technology. With the SolarSky roof, we even pull power from the sky. The SolarSky roof’s revolutionary design integrates solar panels directly onto the panoramic glass roof and sliding glass panel. These solar panels harvest the sun’s rays to generate free energy to support the vehicle’s battery-powered motor. When fully exposed to the sun, the Fisker Ocean’s SolarSky can produce up to 1,500 clean, emissions-free miles per year. Under ideal conditions, this can increase to beyond 2,000 miles – all powered by pure sunshine. SolarSky is standard on the Fisker Ocean One and Extreme.
