Henrik Fisker Discusses Fisker Ocean, PEAR, and Production Goals in Latest Interview

In a recent interview with Welt am Sonntag, Henrik was asked about the Fisker Ocean, PEAR, and his company’s production goals.

Today, German news media, Welt am Sonntag, published a recent interview with Henrik Fisker. He shared Fisker’s plans to sell one million electric vehicles within four years, as part of his aim to compete with major automakers. During the interview, he was also questioned about production of the Fisker Ocean and PEAR, as well as the company’s plans to manufacture their own electric vehicles.

In the interview with Welt am Sonntag, Henrik discussed his company’s 2027 global annual vehicle production target. He said, “Our goal is to sell one million vehicles worldwide in 2027.” The interview was published shortly after the Autonomy Mobility World Expo in Paris, France earlier this week.

Magna Steyr is currently producing the Fisker Ocean in Graz, Austria. The Fisker Ocean, the company’s flagship electric SUV, is set to be approved for road use and delivered this spring. According to Henrik Fisker, “The date depends on the authorities. It’s a formality.” Henrik is expected to provide more info at the end of this month.

Henrik was also asked about the Fisker PEAR. Fisker plans to have the second EV model built in the USA during 2024. Fisker has partnered with Foxconn, a Taiwanese company, for the project which is new to EV manufacturing. Henrik said, “I trust them, just like Apple founder Steve Jobs trusted them when Foxconn started building the iPhone.”

Henrik was quoted talking about manufacturing its own cars as opposed to outsourcing production. He said Fisker hasn’t decided on long term production at this time. “In the long term, we may have our own factory,” he said. Talks are ongoing with major car manufacturers about sharing technological platforms for future vehicles, but nothing has been decided yet.
