Fisker Ocean Trims Are Confusing, We Simplified It for You

If you follow Fisker Ocean comments on social media, you will often see questions and confusion around what features come with each trim level.

You might be about ready to pull the trigger on reserving your first electric vehicle or an existing Fisker Ocean reservation holder. You’ve browsed the Fisker website and have a pretty good understanding about the Fisker Ocean SUV electric vehicle. The Fisker Ocean will come in four trim levels including Ocean One, Extreme, Ultra, and Sport. However, you’re probably still a little confused on what features come with each version of the Fisker Ocean. And, to make matters worse, what each feature does.

Fisker Ocean trim levels described in the company’s words…

Fisker Ocean One
Experience it first. The exclusive, launch-edition Fisker Ocean One will be the first-ever vehicle launched by Fisker Inc. Limited to the first 5,000 units produced, this uncompromised luxury edition comes fully loaded with all available premium features and includes rarities such as 22” F3 SlipStream Wheels made from aluminum with beautiful, recycled carbon fiber inserts, a commemorative digital signature, Big Sur Blue with metallic matte finish, and more.

Fisker Ocean Extreme
Extreme luxury. Extreme performance. Extreme thrills. The Fisker Ocean Extreme lives up to its name in all the right ways. This indulgent trim level comes packed with an abundance of high-end luxury amenities, all-wheel drive, and delivers a superior driving experience powered by its long-range battery.

Fisker Ocean Ultra
Take your driving experience to new levels with the Fisker Ocean Ultra trim package. Dynamic, powerful, and ready for open-air adventure, this premium trim level comes well-equipped with all-wheel drive, the Hyper Range battery, and an impressive array of advanced technology and high-performance features.

Fisker Ocean Sport
Striking a balance of performance, range, and affordability, the Fisker Ocean Sport trim level is your beautiful gateway to electric mobility. The Fisker Ocean Sport is available for the base price, but the features are far from basic. This robust trim package comes nicely equipped with advanced features.

Confusion about features on each trim level

According to comment streams on Fisker social media posts, existing and potential reservation holders seem to be a bit confused. They don’t quite understand exactly what features will be available on each of the four Fisker Ocean trim levels. For example, will the Big Sur Blue paint color be available on all trim levels or does the SolarSky roof come on the Ocean Sport? These are some of the questions we see time and again.

Giving people the benefit of the doubt, it appears Fisker is still trying to figure out what features will be available on each trim level. For instance, PowerBank is listed on the site, but it is still unclear which versions will offer the feature. Unfortunately, the Fisker website doesn’t do the Fisker Ocean justice when it comes to feature comparison by trim level.

The website offers a PDF file with a data dump of Fisker Ocean features for each trim level, which doesn’t help much. It’s not the easiest way to consume the information. We thought it would be helpful for you to see a comparison of each feature by trim level. This should allow you to better understand which trim level comes with each feature.

Keep it simple stupid…

Based on available information, we attempted to simplify features on each Fisker Ocean trim level using a feature matrix. When putting together our feature matrix, we made a few assumptions. Just like the average consumer would probably do.

For example, the Multi-Collision Braking feature is only listed under the Ocean Sport and Automatic Emergency Braking says it’s “Standard” on Ocean Sport and “Premium” on Ocean Ultra, but not listed anywhere on Ocean One or Extreme.

One would assume these safety features would be on more premium versions of the Ocean if they are on the least expensive version. That said, we placed these specific features on all Fisker Oceans trim levels until Fisker tells us otherwise.

  1. Ocean Ultra – No heated front seats in a 49k car, that`s a game changer . My wife likes her heated seats and we cant afford Extreme. Hmmm.

    1. I’m with your wife, I like my heated seats, too. My 2011 Venza has heated seats. $50k+ and no heated seats… If this is true, I’ll request my deposit back. Corolla’s come with heated seats.

  2. A couple of corrections: The Ultra has 2D surround not 3D, the Sport does not have surround; Ultra and Sport both have Front and Side collision warning; Sport has LKA; Sport only has “basic AEB” while other models have “premium”; Winter Package is optional on Sport and Ultra

  3. Thank you Sean!! The best comparison chart I’ve seen to date on the various trim levels. Great job!

  4. I configured ultra to match my mb gle it goes quiet higher than Mercedes

Bought GLE350 for 62k fully loaded all bells and whistles

Same config ocean comes down to around 80k plus

What are your thoughts?
