Sleek design, affordable price and all the battery you will ever need in the segment leading all-electric Fisker Ocean SUV.
When it comes to the world of electric vehicles, batteries are probably the single most important features aside from safety. Of course you want to drive a great looking electric vehicle at an affordable price. However, you also want to be able to travel a far distance on a single charge of your EV battery. Batteries can make or break the affordability factor of an electric vehicle. As a consumer shopping for an EV by segment, you want to take into consideration design, price, and battery range.
Design comparison of Kia Niro, Volkswagen ID.4, and Fisker Ocean
As of today, there are a handful of electric vehicles in the crossover segment below $50,000. Some of the EVs in this segment include the 2022 Kia Niro EV, Volkswagen ID.4 EV, and the Fisker Ocean. Each of these mid-size SUVs have a stylish exterior design. However, there is a big difference between the three. The Fisker Ocean is designed to be the world’s most sustainable electric vehicle. The Fisker Ocean is made in a CO2 neutral factory and the interior is derived from recycled polyester fibers. For example, the seats and carpets use t-shirt material, recycled bottles, and plastic. This helps reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 80%.

How does the Fisker Ocean compare in price and range?
The Kia Niro EV is priced at $39,990 (239 mile range) and Volkswagen ID.4 EV at $40,760 (240 miles). Fisker Ocean SUV has two trims that fall below $50,000 in the crossover segment. The Fisker Ocean Sport will cost $37,499 and allow you to travel estimated 250 miles on a single charge. Fisker Ocean lineup will use two batteries types
Fisker partnered with battery supplier CATL, the world’s largest battery manufacture, ahead of last year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. CATL will supply Fisker with two different battery solutions for the Fisker Ocean SUV. The Fisker Ocean Sport will use a lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery pack. The Ocean Ultra uses a lithium nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery pack. Fisker has been working extensively with CATL. The Fisker Ocean will use two different chemistries to maximize performance and minimize cost for the EV lineup. Fisker Ocean EV batteries will come with a 10-year 100,000 mile warranty with 75% state of health (charge capacity).
