Today, Henrik Fisker shared with us the first right-hand drive Fisker Ocean was being assembled yesterday at Magna Steyr. Henrik shared a photo at the same time saying, “First righthand drive (RHD) Fisker Ocean build on the line at Magna yesterday! Here at the battery marriage station.” Right-hand drive Fisker Oceans will be sold in markets like the United Kingdom.

In June of this year, Fisker said they expected the United Kingdom to be Europe’s second biggest EV market for the Fisker Ocean. This was based on reservation numbers at the time. Over the summer, the Fisker Ocean appeared for the first time in the United Kingdom at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Previously, the company expected the right-hand drive Fisker Ocean to be available in mid-2023 for customers in the United Kingdom.

The Magna Steyr assembly line leverages a lot of robots for automation. In fact, Fisker has equipment dedicated on the line just to produce the Fisker Ocean. For example, the battery marriage station can install the battery in the Fisker Ocean in less than 2 minutes. This also includes the time it takes to automatically fasten all 26 bolts that secure the EV battery in place.
