Fisker seeing strong worldwide demand for the Fisker Ocean as it considers production expansion and possible American manufacturing.

Tonight, Fisker announced it may expand 2024 Fisker Ocean production capacity beyond current production numbers of 50,000 per year. The company is seeing strong demand from customers around the world. Fisker says the strong enthusiasm in the United States is setting the tone for possible American manufacturing.
Demand for Fisker Ocean is strong across the board. Fisker kicked off pre-ordering for Ocean One earlier this Summer. The limited edition Fisker Ocean launch vehicle sold out in 30 days. The company opened up a waitlist for Ocean One on Tuesday of this week. Earlier today, Henrik Fisker shared there are already over 1,000 customers on the waitlist.
“The enthusiasm we’re seeing worldwide for the Fisker Ocean is nothing short of humbling. With our partners at Magna, test vehicles are rolling off the line at the carbon-neutral manufacturing plant in Graz, where we are working diligently on expanding production numbers beyond the current projection of 50,000 units per year. We are also exploring expanding operations to meet this growing demand, including considering manufacturing in the United States. And with our disciplined spending, strong cash position, extraordinary operational flexibility, strong relationships with our suppliers, and a diversified, high line-of-sight potential revenue stream for the first year, we’re full speed ahead on all fronts. I’m looking forward to seeing the very latest pre-production Fisker Ocean vehicles come off the line when I visit the Magna plant in September.”
Henrik Fisker, Chairman & CEO, Fisker Inc.
Earlier this month, Fisker responded quickly to the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The company opened up pre-ordering for the Ocean Extreme, Ultra, and Sport in the United States. Within a few days, the US allocation for both Fisker Ocean Sport and Ultra electric sold out. As discussed on Fiskerati Forums, there were a lot more customers that wanted a Fisker Ocean than the limited supplies available for US customers.
Since Q2 2022 earnings, Fisker added an additional 2k reservations for the Fisker Ocean. Tonight, the company reports more than 58,000 reservations for the Fisker Ocean, including firm orders. Fisker projects at least 80,000 reservations by the end of the year. This shows the strong demand the company is seeing for its electric SUV. Even with a huge backlog, reservations remain open for customers to get into the reservation queue.
