ChargePoint, Fisker’s North American charging partner, will be rolling out a pay-as-you-go option for its customers.
Today, ChargePoint announced that it would soon offer a pay-as-you-go option for customers using its charging network. According to Fisker’s North American charging partner, drivers requested a simpler billing approach. This option will allow customers to pay as they go rather than maintaining a balance on their ChargePoint account. The pay-as-you-go option will roll out from now through this summer.
Customers who use the ChargePoint app, which will be essential for Fisker Ocean owners in the United States, will see no change in how they view their charging activity. When this option becomes available in customer accounts, they can change their preferences by opening the ChargePoint app. Customers can simply navigate to My Account > Payment. They will have the option to select the pay-as-you-go model.
After making the change, ChargePoint customers can begin using the new payment option on the first day of the following month. When customers switch from the auto-reload option to pay-as-you-go, ChargePoint will use up any balance remaining on their account first. Additionally, ChargePoint reminded customers that charging stations are independently owned and that the cost of using them is determined by their individual owners. Customers can use the ChargePoint app to check pricing and filter stations that offer free charging.
