Mercedes-Benz Unleashes North America's Fastest EV Charging Hub with ChargePoint Collaboration

Mercedes-Benz electrifies the road as it unveils its first North America charging hub powered by ChargePoint newest DC fast charging platform.

Today, Mercedes-Benz and ChargePoint announced two exciting developments for all electric vehicle owners. Firstly, Mercedes-Benz revealed the launch of it’s first North America EV charging hub at its headquarters in Sandy Springs, GA. Additionally, ChargePoint’s cutting-edge Power Link DC fast chargers power the new Mercedes-Benz charging hub. This new ChargePoint charging system is capable of reaching astounding rates with high speeds of up to 500kW. This is ChargePoints first large scale deployment of this new charging platform.

Open to all EV owners on day one, the new Mercedes-Benz charging hub supplies both CCS and NACS connectors. They plan to open additional charging hubs in Texas and the Southeast by the end of 2023. As part of Mercedes-Benz and MN8 Energy’s $1 billion commitment, they plan on building North America’s fastest EV charging network by the end of the decade. Together, they aim to deliver 2,500 chargers within at least 400 charging hubs across North America. Moreover, it will be powered entirely by 100% clean energy from carbon-neutral sources, much like EVgo’s charging network.

This initiative by Mercedes-Benz sets a new standard for fast, convenient, and clean EV charging. Furthermore, it also promotes EV adoption by expanding the North American public charging map for all brands of EVs. The first Mercedes-Benz charging hub, equipped with ChargePoint’s Power Link system, offers sustained, ultra-high-speed charging at up to 400kW, exceeding current EV capabilities. Ultimately, this marks the future of EV charging, benefiting current and future EV owners alike.
